Adolf Babel (born in 1934, Germany) is a leading European designer, founder and head of the design office babel (Germany).
He studied design at the Academy in Stuttgart and in the Institute of Fine Arts in Berlin from 1957 till 1962. After graduation from 1963 till 1968 he worked on designing of tableware and cutlery, he served as a freelancer for Hackman, Helsinki and Afentakis, Athens. He won Busse Longlife Design Award, one of the most prestigious design awards in Germany, with SAVONIA cutlery range.
In 1968 he headed his own design office babel.
At the beginning of the seventies he started working on designing of bathroom materials and products. In 1971 the acryl bath, created by A. Babel for the German company HOESCH, did not only changed the marketing strategy of the company, but was a real sensation in the German bath market. The acryl bath Free by Babel for HOESCH won the RED DOT design award in 2004.
The German designer is undoubtedly professional and famous. Besides the a. m. awards, Adolf Babel has won awards of the most distinguished international design contests such as DESIGN PLUS, IF, BUSSE LONGLIFE, DESIGN CENTER, BATIMAT and others.

He is an editorial director of many publications of Reed Business Information, the group where he is also a manager of public relations in Italia. He is a consultant for the Milanese Exhibition Fiera Milano International. He is one of the organizers of the Reed Exhibition in Paris. He is a cofounder of design magazines "Il bagno oggi e domani", "L'ambiente cucina", "Progetto Hotel" and "Tis". He supervises publications and actions dedicated to the design of private premises, hotel and public space. He gives lectures at the high school and at the university. He is a president of the permanent supervision council of design for the Italian Industrial Design Association from 1980 to 2010. |  | | Verena HuberVerena Huber was born in 1938. She grew up in the famous house Huber von Artaria and Schmidt, which became well known as a monument of the early modernist style. Having graduated from the high school in Basel she entered the School of Applied Arts by Willy Guhl in Zurich and studied interior architecture there. She got her experience serving as an Exhibition Contractor in the architect bureaus in Switzerland and the other European countries; she also worked as a journalist of specialized magazines. The result of her activity was the project “Dokumentation Wohnen”, the working group for living studies, consultations and equipment. Her interior architecture bureau specialized in projects for public buildings, hotels, public service buildings etc. From 1980 till 2003 she gave lectures at the Architectural Faculty in ZHW Winterthur. Verena Huber represents a process focused interior architecture with some social and cultural aims.
| |  | | Sabine LenkSabine Lenk is Director of Design Center Stuttgart, one of the leading institutions in Germany, promoting the values of professional design for small and medium sized companies. She has studied Industrial Design at the Universitaet der Kuenste, Berlin. Already during her studies she was engaged with design management and the topic of product development and ecological matters. From 1990 to 1999 she worked in that field at the well-known German office furniture company Wilkhahn, implementing one of the first eco-management systems. In 1999 she moved to Design Center Stuttgart in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Until 2007 she was responsible for the Baden Wuerttemberg International Design Award, different projects like exhibitions, congress and consulting measures as well as public relations. Sinñe 2007 she is director of Design Center Stuttgart. Today the institution develops –in close cooperation with Ministry of Economic Affairs-design promotion and projects. The main target group is small and medium sized companies in Germany and the topic is on product and communication design. |  | | Serge SerovSerge Serov is one of the leading figures in the field of the Russian design. He was born in 1952. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Telecommunication and Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Academy of Arts. He is Ph.D. in History of Arts, author of more than ten monographs (“Style in Graphic Design”, “My Designers” etc.) and about 500 articles. He was Editor in Chief of the design magazines “Greatis” and “Union of Designers”, Member of the Commission for State Awards of the Russian Federation by the President of Russia. He was an author and a curator of about one hundred design exhibitions, contests and actions. He is also President of Moscow International Biennale of Graphic Design, Golden Bee. He is President of Academy of Graphic Design. He is Head of Design Department at the Moscow Artistic Training School of Applied Arts, Head of the High Academic School of Graphic Design and Professor of National Institute of Modern Design. He is Companion of the Golden Badge of Honour “Recognition by the Public”, and he has won many design awards. Serge Serov is Member of the Russian Union of Designers, some international associations, Honorary Member of the Kharkov Organization of the Ukrainian Union of Designers. | |  | | Frank A. ReinhardtFrank A. Reinhardt is a journalist and a degreed industrial designer. For a long time he has been Product and Design Manager for the sanitary ware producers, namely companies Villeroy & Boch and Hoesch. He has been also Project Leader, Corporate Design Agency Hesse Design. Since 2000 Frank A. Reinhardt is Design Manager and Independent Production Consultor in Cologne. He has deserved the name of publicist as a free editor of specialized magazines (Design Report, SBZ) with numerous design publications (including for Architektur & Wohnen). |  | | Bernhard RothbucherBernhard Rothbucher is head of Research Department: Design and Product Management DE RE SA (Design Research Salzburg), and head of Industrial Design (Full Professor): dpm - Design and Product Management (BA/MA study course) at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Rothbucher is also a lecturer at the Freie University Bozen, Italy. He is founder and head of aka buna design consult, Salzburg/Linz, working mainly in the field of Industrial Design, Interior Design and Design Strategy. Rothbucher received a doctor’s degree in philosophy in 2003 at the Chiba University, Tokyo-Japan, from the Design Culture Department Prof. Miyazaki. He holds a master degree in Industrial Design Studies from University of Art and Industrial Design Linz, Austria. | |  | | Victor SydorenkoVictor Sydorenko is one of the leading Ukrainian artists. He is founder and director of the Modern Art Research Institute, vice-president of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine. He graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Arts and Industry, the Faculty of Interior Design, Exhibitions and Advertising. Victor Sydorenko is National Artist, Honoured Arts Worker of Ukraine, Ph.D. in History of Arts, Professor and Academician of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine and Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He works in the field of the visual arts, carries out master-classes concerning the theory and practice of the actual creative works. He is an author of many modern culture research studies. Among many author’s visual projects that have won different awards there are "Authentification", showed in Kiev, Utrecht and Paris, "Depersonalization" a mobile installation within the space of the city of Kiev, Kharkov and Paris, "New Ark", "Levitation", showed in Kiev and Miami. The most famous project is “Millstones of Time” which successfully presented Ukraine at the 50-th Venice Biennale in 2003. The works of this artist are presented both in many museums of Ukraine and abroad and in private collections. |
