The 9-th subject design festival Vodoparad about the bathroom has started in Kharkov. This year this event has aroused a keen interest among all, who are not indifferent to the modern art as usual. To be the first, hundreds of people have come to Kharkov Academy of Design to see VODOPARAD 2009. The theme of this year project, “Transformation” has inspired the participants to create unusual and bright objects. The VODOPARAD curator, Vladimir Bondarenko, says there are some very successful design elaborations and many objects of high quality art at the exposition. At the same time a number of technically correct and functional objects remain, that can be factory- produced. You can just make a conclusion during the opening ceremony, that VODOPARAD seems not to have been affected with the destructive world crisis. The objects are fresh and creative as before, and the participants are full of optimism and energy. As the Head of the VODOPARAD Organizing Committee, Boris Lotkin, stated, it could not have been otherwise. But if the beauty will save the world, then the design of high quality will be able to overcome the financial crisis! The festival VODOPARAD is waiting for the guests at the Academy of Design and Arts till the end of the month. And the main affair is yet to happen, you know that for the fist time this year the works of the Ukrainian designers will be appraised by the jury consisting of the world great designers headed by Adolf Babel.
